My name is Arla Zavala, and I’m SO excited for the prospective chance of getting to work with you! I understand that choosing the right photographer for your needs is so important, so on that note, let me take a moment to introduce myself.
Hi!!!
I was born and raised in the small town of Ayden, located in eastern North Carolina. (population of 5,000 if that tells ya anything.) Despite residing in Ayden all my life, my family has been extremely blessed with the means to travel. Currently, I've been to: about 20 of the US States, Ireland, South Africa, Mexico, Canada, and Puerto Rico. Growing up in a rural southern town paired with my travel experiences instilled in me the deep appreciation for the beauty in things often overlooked. I have an intense fondness in my heart for the little things you don't usually see unless you're outright looking for them. With my photography, it is my objective to capture the essence of your authentic self, creating images that reveal your natural beauty in a way that no one can overlook it. My aim is to highlight the beauty of our world and glorify the Creator who made it.
My interest in photography has been relatively lifelong. I have multiple family members who are experienced photographers so I was exposed to the arts of photography from an early age. I was gifted my first camera at age 14 and was immediately hooked.
My approach to photography is somewhere in the middle of alternative and traditional. I'm a sucker for some key traditional poses, but I find my best work is produced without limitations. Regarding my editing style, I believe that using presets doesn’t produce my best work. Instead, I edit each photo individually to draw out its unique qualities.
While photography is my ultimate passion, my life outside of it is still just as colorful. I'm an avid concert go-er, live music fuels my essence. I also enjoy thrifting vintage clothing and creating groovy outfits. I ADORE animals of all kinds; currently I have a Shih Tzu pup and my place of work has a chubby ol’ store cat. As of right now, after graduating high school I'm planning on attending university to obtain my masters in psychology and counseling. I don't know what the rest of my life has to hold, but I know that I love creating beautiful things.
If you've read this far down, I thank you for giving me the opportunity to share a bit about myself, and I'm looking forward to getting to know you too! If my services seem like a good fit for your needs, go ahead and fill out an inquiry form to schedule a free consultation session!
